Mineral Insulated Cable – sometimes called MI Cable – is a kind of cabling that contains conductors within an outer sheath, insulated with high-purity 99.8% Magnesium Oxide.  The seamless metal sheath supports and electrically insulates the wires held inside.

What are the benefits of MI Cable?

  1. It’s very durable.  The exterior metal sheath, combined with the mineral insulation make this cabling impact resistant.
  2. It’s more fire resistant than plastic insulated cables.
  3. It’s easily installed, because it can be bent, shaped, twisted, or flattened without compromising performance.
